
Stones & Stories - Volunteers Constructing Dry Stone Walls on Kaisereggalp/Alp Walop

At Kaisereggalp (also called Alp Walop), volunteers from the region are working together: Under expert guidance, we are renovating the traditional dry stone walls, a valuable cultural asset in the heart of the mountain landscape.
With Stones & Stories, you'll not only create something lasting, but you'll also become part of a community that works together, learns from each other, and rediscovers nature. Whether for a few days or several weeks, you decide how long you want to participate.
This project is aimed at everyone who wants to contribute to the preservation of the cultural landscape in the Gantrisch region, regardless of age or background. What counts is your commitment and your enjoyment of working together outdoors.
Important information:
- the registration is binding
- the alp can only be reached on foot by a two-hour hike (660 m altitude difference)
- Volunteer work is only possible with at least one overnight stay
- The activities take place in all weather conditions
- A basic physical constitution to work with stones outside in any weather is required
- The number of participants is limited
- Catering is organized by the Urgestein Foundation
- Overnight stay is in a mass of alpine huts (bring your own sleeping bag)
- Insurance is the responsibility of the participants
